June 22nd, 2011
Bikes & Bugs has raised more money for Epilepsy each subsequent year

Past four years of fund raising

The 2011 Bikes & Bugs was another huge success. Vendor booth sales increased. Attendance was up. And, the entertainment was phenomenal. However, the best thing about the 2011 event was the money raise. At $81,000, the 2011 Bikes & Bugs event stands above all past events, $30,ooo more than the 2010 event! That said, each year, the event has had increased sales figures, so the trend for a phenomenal 2012 event is there and everyone is looking forward to supporting it. We will post dates for 2012 here when they become available. Thanks to everyone who participted in the event…you are making a difference in the fight against epilepsy!

2010 Bikes & Bugs a Success

May 3rd, 2010

The 2010 Bikes & Bugs was a big success. Preliminary numbers put epilepsy charity dollars at $50,000. Los Guys are proud to have been a part of this event selling raffle tickets and promoting the event for the Wallace Family Foundation. Thanks also to the clubs that came out to support the event. Several of our fellow clubs from the COC showed up. Channel 39 News came out and did a spot on the event as well. They got our name wrong in the caption (Los Boys) which was hilarious, but you can see the story by clicking here. One question was asked about the perception of bikers and our Pres. did a good job answering it.

The Harley Mechanic and the Cardiologist

August 4th, 2009

A mechanic was removing a cylinder-head from the motor of a Harley motorcycle when he spotted a well-known cardiologist in his shop.

The cardiologist was there waiting for the service manager to come and take a look at his bike when the mechanic shouted across the Garage, ‘Hey Doc, want to take a look at this?’

The cardiologist, a bit surprised, walked over to where the mechanic was working on the motorcycle. The mechanic straightened up, wiped his hands on a rag and asked, ‘So Doc, look at this engine. I open its heart, take the valves out, repair any damage, and then put them back in, and when I finish, it works just like new. So how come I make $39,675 a year and you get the really big bucks ($1,695,759) when you and I are doing basically the same work?’

The cardiologist paused, smiled and leaned over, then whispered to the mechanic…

’Try doing it with the engine running’.

Biker Camping Trip

July 15th, 2009

Dave was attending his biker club’s monthly meeting and had just told them he couldn’t make the camping trip scheduled for the next day because his wife wouldn’t let him go.

After listening to the jeers and other derisive remarks from his fellow biker buddies Dave left to go back home to his wife.

When Dave’s friends started arriving to set up camp the next day, who should be there but Dave sitting in front of his bike, tent up, beer in hand, camp oven roast stewing away in a hot bed of coals.

“How did ya talk your wife into letting you go Dave?”

“I didn’t have to” was Dave’s reply.

“When I left the meeting I went home and slumped down in my chair with a beer to drown my sorrows. Then my wife snuck up behind me and covered my eyes and said, ‘Surprise’!”

When I peeled her hands back she was standing there in a beautiful see-through negligee and she said, “Carry me into the bedroom, tie me to the bed and you can do whatever you want.”

So here I am!
